Chapter One: We Will Elect You!
Staff General Allyson Chains strode purposefully to the bridge of the USS Wang Wei - NCC-81192, a Wallace-Warship class ship.
Her bosom swelled with pride as she exited the turbolift and walked down the several steps to stand in front of The Big Chair. Everyone on the bridge turned to look at her. They all knew why she was there.
"You all know why I am here," she said, her voice full of pride. "It is time to elect a new CO!"
"The air clanged with the ring of withdrawn steel"
"She ignored the flashes of silver and continued her announcement, "You know the drill. Make sure you mark your ballot correctly." She paused and sneered. "I will not tolerate 'none of the above' ever again!"
She emphasized her pronouncement by smacking her fist within her palm. Yet, someone had the audacity to snicker. "And what do you find so amusing?"
Chad, hanging from the ceiling, looked at his supreme commander, averting his eyes from her curvachious form, and dropped his head in shame. "No more hanging chads!" she roared, and blasted him out of existence with her horse chewed phasar rifle butt.
When a reply was not forthcoming, the air hummed with the travel of the whip, ending with a sharp retort as the tip smacked against bare flesh.
"Let that be a lesson to you clowns! And remember this dictatorship is a democracy, so vote accordingly!" She flicked her whip in the air, to punctuate the word "accordingly." She turned and smiled. "Vote early! Vote often! This is a popularity contest!" Unsaid was that the least popular person was the one who usually won....
She began to depart when she tossed over her shoulder. "Ensign Expendable, report to my stable at 2200. Midnightmare's stall needs cleaning again!"
He left admist a chorus of snickers; everyone knew that Midnightmare was being stabled on Risa for breeding purposes again.Some pony was going to be ridden that night, but it wouldn't be Allyson's horse!
Expendable smiled. It was an unusual honor, but the Wei Wang was an unusual ship in this man's Fleet Cavalry.
